Eric Herzog’s college roommate is Lauren McGovern’s older brother, but Lauren and Eric didn’t start dating until seven years after that first introduction. It was only later that Lauren discovered that Eric already knew he would marry her, way back then. After a romantic proposal that involved a private car and plenty of surprise twists, the pair began planning a glittering New Year’s Eve-themed wedding. The Basilica of St. Mary was decked out for the ceremony with white poinsettias, pine trees and candlelight. The reception was equally glamorous, with on-trend acrylic chairs and a stunning 50-foot ombré table runner made entirely of flowers. Café lights, candlelight and up-lighting elevated the drama and sophistication. To announce the newlyweds, the DJ organized guests into two lines, as Moscow mules and mini copper cowbells were distributed. The bride and groom ran through the tunnel of guests, all merrily ringing their bells to Justin Timberlake’s “Pusher Lover Girl.” Happy New Year indeed!
